The Life-Blood of any online business is the ongoing traffic it can produce. The problem is there are so many methods to generating traffic it’s not something that can happen overnight.

Some of the most common methods of driving traffic are…

SECRET ONLINE STRATEGY #5

A Recommended Joint Venture Method

It’s unbelievably obvious. Well… maybe not at first…

Look at just about any major company or successful entrepreneur and if you follow them long enough you will start to notice a trend. That’s right, they work with other people~! (or companies)

In business this is called a joint venture, partnership or merger.

Look at the Joint Venture Between Harley-Davidson and Chevrolet. Harley puts it’s logo on Chevy Trucks and they both get exposure. Harley owners are now drawn to Chevys for their preferred truck of choice and Harley gets even more exposure.

This can be defined as a Joint Venture, an undertaking using combined forces of 2 individual parties.

This technique was used in war since the beginning of time. Small countries would find allies, usually with big countries and be able to defeat much larger armies.

The same technique is applied in business and the sooner you learn to start implementing this method the faster your business will grow, the more money you’ll make and the more free time you’ll have!

OK. “So how do I get started?” you ask.

Rule #1 Suck it up…and just do it.

The best way to get good at anything is to give it your best shot and learn from your mistakes. I generally approach the “seemingly most unreachable people” in the field I’m seeking a joint venture for. You may get a lot of “no” answers but that’s OK. Once you get the “NOs” you can move on and keep working your way towards new potential partners. Sometimes all you need is one yes.

Rule #2

Make sure your offer is win-win

Before you ask anyone for their help make sure you are offering your own as much as possible. Compliments, recommended improvements and friendly critical feedback can all help to win a new partner. Here’s a secret…testimonials don’t hurt either. The more you freely give your enjoyment of products and services related to your field of business the more likely that generous attitude will come back to you when you need a favor!

Rule #3

Your best bet is to get referred to your target partner by someone they know better than you. This is the trick finding your ultimate partner fast.

If you are in the internet marketing field a new community was recently released that can make finding Joint Ventures a breeze.

I’m talking about the Internet Marketing Inner Circle

Just remember…

These 3 Rules will have you well on your way to making new deals and fattening your bank account.

Work Life and Family are the three keystones for every small business owner. More appropriately, work life and family are the three balls that a juggler has to keep up in the air. Small business owners are jugglers by choice and by necessity. The real trick is to keep it to just three balls, and to keep them all going happily and productively.

My goal with SmallBizWithKids.com is to provide engaging, entertaining and valuable insight, commentary and “best practices” on work, life and family. I hope that others will join in the conversation and add their comments and perspectives.

In the future, I’ll be interviewing executives and reviewing productivity tools, reviewing and commenting on books and news and sharing some of the day to day highs lows and challenges that come from parenting, from marriage and from running a business.

I hope you enjoy your time here and like it enough to tell your friends and subscribe to my feed.
